As always, Google is the answer, as long as you know what the question is.

To import the comments from Haloscan, I used the Scripts as written here:

However, there was a bug in it that didn’t increment the comment count in posts correctly.

So, another person developed a fix:

And all is now sorted. You just gotta love Open Source!
