Sock is going well! I’m up to row 7 🙂 I was out at NW1k2tog last night, and I blazed out 4 rows, as well as sorting out one ladies yarn tangle, and trying to write my first pattern… and boy, trust me that I picked something really really really awkward to chart out for it! *sigh* 🙂
I’m rather disapointed in the Addi Bamboo DPNs though. One of the points has split! I bought an Inox set from Texere, same time as my 9mm DPNs, and although they look the same, they feel totally different, and feel so much stronger! So, I’m going to transfer over, and take the Addi’s back to Loop.
Talking of 9mm DPNs, A French Market Bag got cast on when I got home from NW1k2tog and found the 9mm DPNs on the doormat, very odd knitting that first 8 stitches! So crowded on the needles!
The DPNs are far shorter than I envistaged though, they are only 20cm. Not sure what I’m going to do when I get up to “too many st for the DPNs, not enough for a circ” stage…
And just to show I’m not fibre obsessed, I went to John Lewis today and bought fun-fun fabric, so that I can make Karl his fancy dress costume for the party we are going to at the weekend! The party has a “Fairies of Midsummer Night’s dream” theme.. So, I’m going to wear this:
and go as Titania, Queen of the Fairies, and we decided that as my friend has a rather hairy chest, going as Robin Goodfellow aka Puck, would suit him well… hence the fun-fur. One set of Goat-legs coming up! Cover him in gold/green glitter, and see if I can get a set of pointy ears, and maybe a small set of horns for him, and we are away! 🙂
